Indolbutyric acid is an auxin. Plants produce auxins for a variety of purposes and, as growth promoters, are able to induce rooting. Auxin molecules are transported from one cell to another using the plant’s energy-dependent active transport system.
Depending on the situation, the plant may transport auxin to the root zone and/or to its own aerial parts. The auxin/cytokine ratio in the lower part of the stem is critical in determining whether or not the plant can root.
Rhizopon® products, based on indolbutyric acid, are used for vegetative propagation of ornamental plants. The product is applied to cuttings to improve their yield. To meet the needs of each cutting, Rhizopon® has developed several formulations in ready-to-use concentrated powders.
